Morning rituals

Your morning deserves extra attention. That's why you should always start your mornings with small, self-loving rituals that give you a head start on the day ahead. When you start practicing rituals that are pleasant, present, inspiring and, not least, energizing, you will experience a special energy for the rest of the day.

Get up (in good time)
To accommodate a slow morning, it may be necessary to set the alarm an hour before the kids wake up. That way you have time for yourself. Time to:
  • Be mindful
  • Create peace and order
  • Have breakfast
  • Prioritize immersion
  • Give your body and mind a boost
Be mindful
When your alarm goes off in the morning, what's the first thing you do? Do you just get out of bed and get dressed, or do you spend 5 minutes getting a calm start to the day? Stretch yourself. Feel your body. Appreciate a new day and what makes you happy. Sit up in bed, notice the mood of the birds and the rays of the sun streaming in through the window (Yes, we are so lucky that spring is finally on its way).

Create order
Before you leave your bedroom, make sure to give it a little extra attention. Make the bed. Draw the curtains. Open the window and feel the fresh air. Put excess clothes in the closet. Put your nightwear ready on the bed, or stay in it a little longer, as it can also give you a feeling of well-being and calmness. Enjoy the weekends a little extra, because there you can fool around in soft and moveable nightwear all day, if that's what you want.

Eat a healthy breakfast
A refreshing green smoothie, protein-packed chia pudding with melon pieces, omelet with a steamer and pepper, or a fiber pancake are just some of the recipes that give you an energetic start to the day. There is no scientific evidence that skipping breakfast is unhealthy. But you must be aware that if you start to feel tired or incoherent in the morning, this will affect your ability to concentrate and your memory. So even if you're not hungry, eat some light food to keep your brain sharp.

Let it go
Instead of enjoying your morning coffee with a mobile in hand while checking the day's news or social media, spend it on content that gives you value. Rewarding content from a book, audiobook or podcast that you follow. Calm and self-loving mornings are not just about practicing the 'right' rituals. It's also about you removing or letting go of the habits that take up your precious time, don't give you energy and that steal your time from other morning rituals that give you more profit and energy.

Move yourself
Gentle stretches or sweat on the forehead? Move on the yoga mat, in the gym or in nature. It does wonders for your mood and your energy. When you practice yoga, you stimulate both your body and your mind.
