How to measure
Upper body
- Use the right equipment: To measure your torso correctly, use a flexible tape measure. It can be handy to have a helper to ensure accurate measurements.
-
Chest measurement: Start by measuring your chest. Stand upright with your arms down at your sides. Place the tape measure around the widest point of your chest, usually above the nipples. Make sure the tape measure is parallel to the ground and not too tight, but still close to your body. Read the measurement in centimeters.
Lower body
- Preparation: To accurately measure your lower body, use a flexible tape measure and a helper if possible. Be sure to wear the types of underwear or clothing you would normally wear with those bottoms.
- Hip measurement: Start by measuring your hips. Stand upright with your feet together. Place the tape measure around the widest point of your hips. This point is usually about 20-25 cm below your natural waist. Make sure the tape measure is horizontal and not too tight, but still close to your body. Read the measurement in centimeters.
- Waist measurement: For the waist measurement, find your natural waist point. This is usually the narrowest point on your waist, just above your hips. Measure around this point with the tape measure. Make sure the tape measure is tight, but not tighter than it can slide freely. Read the measurement in centimeters.
